I will provide you with one-on-one support using evidence-based psychotherapy theories and techniques to help you achieve the version of yourself that you best recognize. We will collaboratively create attainable therapy goals and make a plan to achieve them.
You can expect to be speaking mostly in the first few sessions as we get acquainted with your present concerns.
Individual Sessions are 50-minutes.
A 50-minute session with a Registered Psychotherapist costs $155+HST, and a 50-minute session with a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) costs $125+HST.
The difference between these two designations is that a Registered Psychotherapist has more clinical experience than a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying). But don't worry! A Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) is supervised by our Clinical Director who has a vast amount of experience mentoring, supervising, and training new professionals. And from our experience, sometimes it isn't about who has been working in the field longest; it's more about who you click with better and who can help you feel safe in sharing. These factors are not developed through clinical experience, but more so a characteristic we've established as human beings!
While many private insurance companies have expanded coverage to include psychotherapy, it is advised that you reach out to your provider to ensure that registered psychotherapists are included in your plan. Services are provided by a Registered Psychotherapist.
Yes and yes! We use the Jane App platform to conduct therapy sessions and store confidential information. Jane is HIPAA and PHIPA compliant. I am in good standing with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) and adhere to their standards of ethics which includes strict confidentialiy.
Research has shown that online/virtual therapy is just as effective as in-person therapy. But everyone has their preferences!
Many clients enjoy the option of choosing to have their therapy session in a space that feels safe to them, the convenience of online therapy, and the anonymity of not having to travel to a public space. I offer online therapy services to clients all over Ontario!
Great question! Finding a therapist who is a good fit for you is also important to me!
It often takes a bit of time to establish rapport with your therapist. In general, your therapist should make you feel safe, heard, and cared for while challenging you to move outside of your comfort zone with empathy and patience. Listen to what your gut has to say when you speak to your therapist!
