“I truly believe that the purpose of life is to love — to learn to love others and to learn to love ourselves.”

Hello, my name is Jacklyn and I am the Founder of Karkiu Psychotherapy and Counselling. I love seeing you take this first step towards your inner healing and am happy to ease you into the process of therapy! I am a Registered Psychotherapist with CRPO and have been working in the field of mental health and education for over 10 years. As the Clinical Director, I oversee all cases that come through the practice – whether with me or with one of our Associates.

As your therapist, I use a balance between comfort and challenge in helping you discover who you are today, work on healing from past wounds, and improve your relationships. The aim is for you to develop a secure attachment within yourself and a sense of self-acceptance in who you are as a whole. We focus on strengths and self-compassion to assist you in building skills that will help you remain resilient and gritty.

My clients are typically adult individuals who struggle with depression, anxiety, trauma, grief, identity loss, and relationship issues. I use a client-centered approach that empowers the individual to meaningfully regulate their inner experiences through culturally sensitive techniques, mindfulness practice, emotion-focused and trauma-informed theories.

I hope that we have the honour of working with you to discover, shape, and implement whatever healing looks like for you!

“Who were you before the world told you who to be? Let’s discover the person beneath what you are struggling with, and embrace the authentic, imperfect human in you.”

Hi! My name is Angela and I am a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with CRPO and a Registered Social Worker with OCSWSW. As your therapist, I strive to create an environment where you feel seen and heard – comfortable to explore your roots through a collaborative and supportive environment. I strive to see the person beyond the problem by recognizing our inherent strengths, talents, and passions as humans to facilitate meaningful change.

My clients are typically adults struggling with anxiety, depression, perfectionism, burnout, body image issues, disordered eating, and life stressors. My approach is informed by Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, inner child healing, and trauma-informed practices. Using a client-centered approach, we will reconnect you with yourself, and foster self-acceptance, self-compassion, and empowerment.

I believe that you are not something that is broken or in need or fixing, but one that is in need of finding… let’s find you together! I’m here to support you through every step of the way into feeling like yourself again and building a life that is meaningful and authentic to you. I look forward to meeting with you!

“Life is like a sandbox – we can build what we want! Let’s work together and make transformative changes that’ll help you flourish into the person that you were meant to be!”

Welcome! My name is Sybil, and I am a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with CRPO. As your therapist, I am committed to hearing you beyond your words and seeing you beyond what is shown. I am passionate about helping you reconnect with the parts of yourself that have been wounded through challenges of the past. Through a client-centred lens, I strive to foster an environment where you feel heard, seen and appreciated for the intersecting strengths, values and identities that you hold.

I typically work with adults struggling with depression, anxiety, complex trauma, grief, identity, and relational issues. I use a trauma-informed approach to safely support clients in the rediscovery of their true selves. Together, we will build and learn to walk along a path that is aligned with your values instead of the one built for you by others.

I believe you can build the bright, healthy, and meaningful life you deserve. Life is like a sandbox – we can build what we want! Let’s work together and make transformative changes to help you flourish into the person you were meant to be.

I look forward to meeting you soon!

Abigail Ajodha

“Happiness and a meaningful life are within your grasp, and I am here to guide you towards the meaningful life you deserve!”

You’ve taken the first step toward healing, and that’s something to be proud of. My name is Abigail, and I am a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with CRPO. Choosing to seek therapy isn’t easy, but it’s a powerful decision. As an immigrant, I understand the challenges of adjusting to a different culture and the possible familial conflict that arises from different values and beliefs. I provide an empathetic and understanding space to explore the struggles of growing up with immigrant parents and feeling misunderstood.

My clients are typically adults working through intergenerational trauma, being the parentified sibling, living as a neurospicy person, depression, anxiety, substance use, relationship issues, and codependency. I will work with you to unpack unhelpful core beliefs and to find compassion and forgiveness within yourself so you can move forward with grace.

I believe that happiness and a meaningful life are within your grasp, and I am here to help. Together we’ll explore your thought patterns, reshape them, nurture your self-confidence and self-compassion, and lead you towards the meaningful life you deserve. I look forward to holding space for you soon!
